Within the FLOWS small grants programme, NGO POLIS has implemented an initiative aimed at improving water infrastructure and promoting sustainable water resource management in educational institutions in the Municipality of Viti.
The main objective of the project is to reduce the mismanagement of drinking water in schools and kindergartens by promoting efficient and responsible water use through practical and sustainable solutions.
Funded by the World Bank under the FLOWS project, this investment contributes to improving the quality and safety of drinking water in the targeted institutions.
Key activities included the installation of sensor-based taps to ensure more efficient water use, as well as the installation of modern sanitation units in each school, equipped with systems for rational water management.
The project also contributes to environmental protection by reducing water consumption and easing pressure on local water resources, while fostering a culture of sustainable water use within the community.
